Volcanic Promotions is pleased to announce, the “Maryhill Festival of Speed”, a unique, five day, multi-discipline, gravity sports festival that will take place from September 11-15, 2007. The event will be headlined by an IGSA World Cup Downhill Skateboarding and Street Luge competition. Top international gravity sports athletes from around the globe will be taking part in the unique event that is being contested on the Maryhill Historic Loops Road in Goldendale, WA.

The “Maryhill Festival of Speed “will be much more than just a race. Competitors will spend five days in a festival type of atmosphere with a rider’s tent, athlete party, live entertainment, campground and three days of free riding in addition to the World Cup event. The Maryhill Historic Loops Road is known as one of the premier venues for gravity racing in North America because of the challenging hairpin corners, high speeds and perfect pavement. In addition to Downhill Skateboarding and Street Luge, top athletes will compete in Classic Luge, Downhill Inline Skating, Inline Board and Gravity Bike classes.

The United States is where gravity racing began,” mentions Volcanic Promotions President John Ozman of Longbranch, WA. “I expect to see all the top ranked gravity racers from around the world at this event.” In addition to securing the event site, Volcanic Promotions has secured sanctioning from the leader in gravity sports racing, the International Gravity Sports Association (IGSA). “Having IGSA sanction this event means a lot to me” says John Ozman, “I have been involved in Gravity Sports for many years and the IGSA has proven they are the best”.

More details will follow in the coming months. Put this event on your calendar. For more information on the IGSA visit www.gravity-sports.com.

Poncho Pantera with Chocomilk learns to ride the Dirtsurfer in Mexico City.

U.S. Dirtsurfer team leader Rob “Papa Surf” Turman is spending the weekends commuting to Mexico to spread the sport of Inline Boarding with his Dirtsurfer. Poncho and Rob (center) are pictured here with the group from Chocomilk and Metrica.

I want one of those stylin’ red, white and blue shirts with the Poncho Pantera logo on the front and the chocomilk logo on the back… and a can of the chocolate drink mix to try.

Rob and the team are touring Mexico teaching kids how to ride Dirtsurfers. Rob drops in on a quarter pipe ramp (left) to get speed for the jump and turn ramps.

It took a little practice to get the hang of riding the ramps but they got it down and put on a good demonstration. “The whole weekend is a lot of fun,” Rob said. “Everybody here is treating us very well. We even got the guys from Chocomilk and Metrica to let me jump over them.”

The demo starts on Friday and runs throughout the weekend with most attendees showing up on Sunday.

The guys really give the Freestyle a workout on the ramps. To get a free lesson, customers who buy Chocomilk and show the sales receipt are allowed to participate and give it a try. Here you see Rob making the jump over one of the crew.

Rob and Chase are back again this weekend doing more demos and giving more lessons. We managed to help Jeremy from Canada get his two Freestyles sold last weekend. They were left behind after the filming of the t.v. commercial back in July.

We’re still looking for a distributor to help develop the Mexican Dirtsurfer market. If you know someone who would be interested, be sure to send them our way so we can get them the info they need to get started.

Cheers,
Brian

Doug Cornell of “The Dirt Surfers” (one our favorite bands) has sent us this exciting news.

“Hello guys.

Are you ready to KICK ASS and TAKE NAMES?

Our new album is finally available. The band was signed to RRO Entertainment last summer, and we put together a new album, KICK ASS TAKE NAMES.

This album features 16 amazing tracks! Best of all, there are three new instrumental cover tunes: “Get It On (Bang a Gong),” “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown),” and “Paint It Black.” “Norwegian Wood” was featured last Sunday on “Breakfast With the Beatles,” on 99.5FM “The Mountain,” Colorado’s largest FM radio station!

KICK ASS TAKE NAMES is available as a download only release. You can get it TODAY at iTunes. You may also preview the tracks at http://cdbaby.com/cd/dirtsurfers

We’re sure you will want to add every song from KICK ASS TAKE NAMES to your music library.

Take Care and Never Admit Blame!” – Doug Cornell, AKA “The Dirt Kahuna”
The Dirt Surfers

Congratulations, Doug. We look forward to hearing more from you guys.

Here’s a short video Doug made awhile back… enjoy.

Best of luck,
Brian

U.S. Dirtsurfer Team leader Rob “Papa Surf” Turman of Franklin County, Virginia and new team member Robert Paul of Raleigh, North Carolina head to Mexico City today to begin the Dirtsurfer Demo tour as part of the Chocomilk campaign launched in July.

The first to arrive in Mexico City is Robert Paul. Robert spent the month of June traveling throughout the U.S. riding his silver Dirtsurfer GP and promoting the sport of Inline Boarding. I went down to Raleigh in October to do some safety and rider training with Robert (left) and fellow rider Mike (right) pictured here wearing the classic Dirtsurfer Industry T-shirt and Dirtsurfer brand wrist guards.

Our Mexico contact, Jorge Herrera with PluriMarketing, will pick them up at the airport when they arrive and help them get checked-in at the Maria Barbara hotel.

Then it’s off to the demo location to get familiar with the ramps and how things are set-up. This will also be an opportunity for the guys to get familiar with the organizing team at PluriMarketing who put this together.

We have been getting a number of local Mexican longboarders and surfers contacting us about the demo tour. We look forward to meeting these riders and getting them up on their first Dirtsurfer.

Stay tuned for more updates from the team.
Cheers,
Brian
